Reliance JioPhone 2 runs on KaiOS and features 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. The phone will also supports expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card. Reliance Jio hasn’t revealed which processor powers the phone.
Reliance JioPhone 2 comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display that supports landscape mode for better multimedia viewing. It sports 2-megapixel rear camera and VGA front-facing camera. Other important features include dual-SIM, LTE, VoLTE, and VoWi-Fi. The phone also comes with FM, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth. Reliance JioPhone 2 is powered by a 2,000mAh battery.
Reliance Jio will start rolling out Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps apps for JioPhone users starting August 15. WhatsApp will also be rolled out to the smart feature phone in the coming days. The JioPhone 2 also supports these popular applications.
In comparison, JioPhone comes with a 2.4-inch display but with the traditional feature phone design and T9 keypad. It also supports 4G VoLTE support, FM radio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC. The JioPhone is powered by a 2,000mAh battery.
Reliance Jio will start taking registrations for its new broadband service from August 15. The new broadband service is promised to deliver 1Gbps of speed and will be rolled in over 1,000 cities.
