San Francisco, Sep 7 Facebook-owned Instagram has built a "Parent's Guide" focusing on privacy, interactions and time management for parents who have teenage children using the platform.

"We've included the basics of our app and description of our tools, plus a discussion guide for how parents and guardians can have an open conversation with their teens about Instagram," Marne Levine, Chief Operating Officer, Instagram wrote in a blog post late on Thursday.

The 10 listed discussion questions have been designed to help parents learn more about how teenagers are using Instagram and to ensure that the app is being used in a positive way like discussing whether they want to keep their accounts public or private. 

The photo-messaging app has also developed a video guide that "gathered a group of parents who work at Instagram to talk about the tools they use to foster positive online experiences for their teens."

For its one billion app users, Instagram also offers other tools like comment controls, the ability to report unwanted interactions and most recently, a suite of features to help users manage time on the app.

"We're committed to being here every step of the way to make sure parents and their teens have the tools they need to make the choices that are right for them," Levine added.

San Francisco, Sep 8 Twitter has launched an audio-only broadcasting feature so your followers can hear, but not see you.

The new feature announced on Friday is currenly publicly available for all iOS users of the main Twitter app and its live-streaming app Periscope, The Verge reported.

To use the "audio-only broadcast" option, users need to update their app and go to the "Go Live" button on the compose screen.

The addition of this feature can be seen as an attempt by Twitter to reorient the purpose of its live-streaming platform toward live podcasting and other audio-first content, the report said.

Given how big a business that podcast industry is becoming, it makes sense that Twitter would want a fair share of it.

The microblogging site is also testing a redesign that adds the "Explore" tab and Bookmarks to the desktop site, along with some other features.

The features are currently available only for a small number of users.

"Love to use Bookmarks and want it on web? Into scrolling through Explore to see what's happening? We are testing out a new Twitter for web, which a small number of people will see today. Love it? Missing something? Reply and tell us. Don't have the new experience? Stay tuned," Twitter said.

The Explore tab pulls together Moments, trends, search and more to give you a broad sense of what's going on at a given time, Engadget reported.

New Delhi, September 8: Reliance Jio is offering 16 GB data to its customers to celebrate its 2-year run in the telecom industry. The Jio subscribers will get 2GB 4G data per day. Some reports also suggest that the company will give 8GB data in the month of September and another 8GB data in October under its Jio Celebrations offer.

First, 8 GB will be valid till September 11 and it is also unclear that if this celebration pack will be available to all users. The plan and data quality will also differ for many users. Some users are may get 8GB data and some may get 16GB.

YouTube will serve you more non-skippable advertisements. The Google-owned video sharing platform will be rolling out the change starting next week.

YouTube hopes the new feature will help content creators monetise their content and earn more revenue. Eligible content creators will get a notification about the new feature in their dashboard, said company officials in a uploaded on YouTube’s Creator Insider channel, late on Friday.

Content creators will also be able to turn on non-skippable ads for existing videos on their channels.

The content-sharing platform is also adding a tool, thus, allowing creators to add or remove non-skippable advertisements in bulk on multiple videos to analyse for themselves whether or not this new feature is engaging audiences and extracting revenue flow. The new feature would reach all creators who are part of the “YouTube Partner Programme” who monetise their content on the platform.

What is UPI Account?

The much-awaited whatsapp Payments feature has finally started rolling out for the users. The UPI-based payment feature is currently available for Android and iOS beta users and is yet to be rolled out for the non-beta users. The new option will enable WhatsApp users to both send and receive money from anyone on their contact list. The Facebook-owned app has tied up with top public and private banks to make the service useful for its consumers. What is more interesting is that since it works on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform, users do not need the IFSC code to initiate a transaction.

There are two ways of sending money to a friend or a family member. But before that, make sure you have a UPI account. Once the UPI account is created, open the WhatsApp > Settings > Payments > New Payments > Select contact > Enter amount > UPI Pin > Send. If your account does not have a payments account it will ask you to notify the concerned person to create one. After the payment is successful, you will get a receipt of the same on your chat window.

The other option is more direct and can only be done once you have activated your WhatsApp Payments account.
